Long time no blog, everyone.
The GO-FAR Bangladesh team is proud to present to you Jibika – the DVD-equipped magazine with the results of our two week-long visits to Bangladesh in 2009! Inside this wonderful literature resides our articles, photographs and video documentaries about the amazing country and its people. Jibika means “livelihood” in Bangla, and what better word is there to describe the bustling city and beautiful countrysides we saw.
Yes, yes. We know it’s been a while since the trip concluded in 2009, but the magazine is finally out! Better late than never, right? Good things come to those who wait, too, among other aphorisms for this sort of thing.
Much thanks to everyone who showed up yesterday in NTU to slip 1,800 DVDs into 1,800 copies of the magazine. Keep your paper cuts dry and try not to infect the cuts and we should have our hands back to normal in no time, okay?
Jibika is available in the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, NTU. Alternatively, do hunt down one of us Go-Farers for a copy if you don’t want to make the trek down to Boon Lay. (But take it from me; the journey westwards will be worth it.)
Cheers,
Cheryl
